Guest posts at fifthfret.org

There were a couple of posts I drafted recently that didn’t really fit with the project-centric nature of this blog so I offered them to my friend and blogger, Pappy, the driving force behind fifthfret.org.

I was delighted when Pappy accepted them for publication.

Both of them are, to a certain extent, rants about things in the guitar world that annoy me.

The first of my posts is about the unnatural pressure people feel when testing out guitars in a shop, and offers a tongue in cheek approach to dealing with it. “The Bluffer’s Guide To Guitar Shops”.

The second is about how aftermarket parts makers and suppliers can try to tempt you with their wares by promising radical improvements in tone without ever backing up their claims. “Tone Pursuit”.
